Ben Ryan has amazing experience and a unique perspective on what it takes to lead in the middle of a storm: be it an actual Tsunami, managing life and teams under a dictator or even during a terrorist attack. One of his greatest accomplishments came when Ben was challenged with leading the Fiji Rugby programme without an ounce of technology nor the facilities to train the raw Fijian athletes. As head coach of Fiji Rugby Sevens, he pioneered the use of GPS technology – as a team-sport development tool – and is the only winning coach who has won Continental, World and Olympic titles to achieve legendary status. Three years later, his leadership delivered the country’s first gold medal at the Rio Olympic games in 2016. Ben’s engaging presence on stage leads him to be one of the most in-demand speakers with extensive knowledge on leadership, collaboration, teamwork, communication, culture and personal success from his deeply moving experiences.

As an international speaker, an author and coach for global organisations, Ben shares insights that illustrate how to implement innovation successfully rather than simply having an innovation department. Ben also shares effective ways to build trust, how to adapt approaches to different contexts, how to measure performance in a meaningful way and how the proper tools in coaching teams can be the difference between success and failure.

Ben is an ambassador for HSBC and Fiji Airways and currently a consultant for many world class organisations, both within and outside the sporting world. Ben thinks differently, empowering individuals with the tools to make real change in the way they lead their lives.

“Ben was excellent and a great fit for our group and event. He was obviously well prepared and took into account our brief from the event.”
